Remember when doctors made house calls?
Dr. Oberlender started his consultation practice in Geriatric Medicine to bring his more than 25 years of caring and experience managing the medical needs of seniors into the home setting. His practice covers the Roanoke, Virginia area, including the Central and Southwestern part of the state.
As we age, maintaining our physical health and mental clarity are more important than ever. Most of us are especially concerned about maintaining or improving our cognitive abilities (the ability to think clearly and remember things) and our day-to-day functional independence. Seniors and their families want and need experienced professional medical guidance to help them stay as mentally clear and as physically active as possible. The attention to detail and the time needed to sort out the complex medical problems of seniors and to fully address their many questions and concerns takes time—time that just isn’t available in the modern primary care office visit.
Dr. Oberlender takes as much time as it takes.
He helps seniors meet their need for detailed diagnostic assessments and professional medical guidance and advice and he does it in the privacy, convenience, and comfort of their own homes. Whether it’s performing a comprehensive complete assessment or providing independent medical evaluation of a senior’s decision making capacity as part of the estate planning process, the benefits of taking as much time as it takes and providing the assessment in the patient’s own home make all the difference.
